Glastonbury-Rocky Hill Ferry Campaign

Glastonbury-Rocky Hill historic ferryBike Walk Glastonbury was one of several local and state groups campaigning to save the historic Glastonbury–Rocky Hill ferry after it found itself on the list for proposed budget cuts in 2011.

The Connecticut DOT has returned to the 7am–7pm ferry schedule (after service was reduced in 2011 to eliminate the primary commuting hours).

The DOT is seeking a long-term solution that will allow continuous operation of the ferry.

Key stakeholders include not just bicycle and pedestrian groups but local historic societies. Visit the Friends of the Connecticut River Ferries page on Facebook for news and updates.
